Frequently Asked Questions

What is Rush?

Rush is a recruitment period held during the beginning of the school year in September, and occasionally again in the Winter. It can be described as simply as the "meet-and-greet" period! This is the time for all you university gals to come out to all of our fun events and learn about all that Delta Pi has to offer!

For more information on Rush, please email our amazing Rush Chairs:

What kind of time commitment does Delta Pi expect from their members?

Delta Pi sisters are committed to achieving high academic excellence, while promoting a comprehensive fun university experience. Our social calendars are designed to maintain and encourage success as well as campus and community involvement.

Does delta pi have a sorority house?

As the Alpha Chapter of Delta Pi accepts members from universities and colleges spread out across the GTA, the sorority does not have a house. A majority of events take place at our members houses/apartments. The sorority makes a strong effort to balance monthly events taking place north of Steeles, midtown and downtown.

As for the Beta and Gamma chapters, they too do not have a house but, they do host events on or close to campus!

I am not Jewish... Can I still Rush?

Yes! Yes! Yes!
Although Delta Pi is a Jewish based sorority, with the majority of the sisters being of the Jewish faith, we do have, and encourage, members of diverse backgrounds and religions.

HOW MANY RUSH EVENTS MUST I ATTEND?

We understand that the beginning of the school year can be busy for students. As such, we do our best to spread out our Rush events throughout the month! The more events you attend, the better you will get to know the sisters and vice versa.  Please note: you must attend at least one Rush event during the recruitment period.

I Don't have a car! How will I get to and from events?

Don't have a car? Not to worry! Many of our sisters use public transportation and will happily arrange to meet with you on campus to commute together. As well, sisters who drive can assist to pick you up at a mutually convenient location or a nearby subway stop. If you plan to attend a Rush event but are worried about safe transportation, please post on the wall in our Rush Facebook group to reach out to fellow "Rushes" and sisters of the sorority.
